It takes in 8 cities, towns and plantations, the largest Presque Isle, Caribou, Mapleton, and Washburn.

In the 2024 presidential race, Donald Trump carried the district with 59.5% to 39.1% for Kamala Harris. That was a Republican margin of 20.4 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Paul LePage carried the district with 55.4% to 42.8% for Janet Mills. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Angus King (Unenrolled) carried the district with 51% to 39.9% for Demi Kouzounas. On the Partisan Electoral Alignment Index (Partisan EAI), it ranks as the 12th most Republican of 60 county commissioner districts.
