It takes in 27 cities, towns and plantations, the largest Fort Kent, Madawaska, Van Buren, and Limestone.
In the 2024 presidential race, Donald Trump carried the district with 57.5% to 41% for Kamala Harris. That was a Republican margin of 16.5 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Paul LePage carried the district with 52.5% to 45.9% for Janet Mills. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Angus King (Unenrolled) carried the district with 50.3% to 39.4% for Demi Kouzounas. On the Partisan Electoral Alignment Index (Partisan EAI), it ranks as the 23rd most Republican of 60 county commissioner districts.
