Hancock County Commissioner District 2 is one of Hancock County’s three commissioner districts under the current plan (2021, with the 2024 update). Its population was 17,990 in the 2020 Census.

It takes in 11 cities, towns and plantations, the largest Bucksport, Orland, Deer Isle, and Dedham.

In the 2024 presidential race, Kamala Harris carried the district with 54.5% to 43.2% for Donald Trump. That was a Democratic margin of 11.3 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Janet Mills carried the district with 57.1% to 41.3% for Paul LePage. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Angus King (Unenrolled) carried the district with 56.6% to 31.2% for Demi Kouzounas. On the Partisan Electoral Alignment Index (Partisan EAI), it ranks as the 15th most Democratic of 60 county commissioner districts.

As of March 7, 2026, Hancock County Commissioner District 2 had 12,626 active registered voters: 34.9% Democrats, 29.6% Republicans, 31.6% unenrolled, and 3.5% Green Independents.
