It takes in 7 cities, towns and plantations, the largest Jefferson, Whitefield, Damariscotta, and Newcastle.
In the 2024 presidential race, Kamala Harris carried the district with 53.2% to 44.4% for Donald Trump. That was a Democratic margin of 8.8 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Janet Mills carried the district with 55.7% to 42.4% for Paul LePage. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Angus King (Unenrolled) carried the district with 53.8% to 34.8% for Demi Kouzounas. On the Partisan Electoral Alignment Index (Partisan EAI), it ranks as the 21st most Democratic of 60 county commissioner districts.
