State House District 33 is one of Maine’s 151 State House districts, as drawn in the 2021 redistricting plan and in effect since the 2022 election. Its population was 9,113 in the 2020 Census.
It takes in Newport, Corinna, Plymouth, Etna, and Dixmont. It is represented in the Maine House of Representatives by Rep. Kenneth Fredette (R-Newport).
In the 2024 presidential race, Donald Trump carried the district with 68.4% to 30.4% for Kamala Harris. That was a Republican margin of 38 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Paul LePage carried the district with 64.4% to 33.7% for Janet Mills. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Demi Kouzounas carried the district with 50.4% to 40.4% for Angus King (Unenrolled). On the Partisan Electoral Alignment Index (Partisan EAI), it ranks as the 5th most Republican of 151 State House districts.
