State House District 38 is one of Maine’s 151 State House districts, as drawn in the 2021 redistricting plan and in effect since the 2022 election. Its population was 9,363 in the 2020 Census.

It takes in 9 places, the largest of them Unity, Swanville, Brooks, Monroe, and Knox. It is represented in the Maine House of Representatives by Rep. Benjamin Hymes (R-Waldo).

In the 2024 presidential race, Donald Trump carried the district with 54.3% to 42.3% for Kamala Harris. That was a Republican margin of 12 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Paul LePage carried the district with 50.8% to 46.8% for Janet Mills. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Angus King (Unenrolled) carried the district with 43.5% to 40.5% for Demi Kouzounas. On the Partisan Electoral Alignment Index (Partisan EAI), it ranks as the 47th most Republican of 151 State House districts.
