In the 2024 presidential race, Kamala Harris carried Waldo County with 50.4% to 47% for Donald Trump. That was a Democratic margin of 3.4 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Janet Mills carried Waldo County with 54.8% to 43.3% for Paul LePage. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Angus King (Unenrolled) carried Waldo County with 50.1% to 35.5% for Demi Kouzounas. On the Partisan Electoral Alignment Index (Partisan EAI), it ranks as the 7th most Democratic of 16 counties.
