Acadia Region is one of twelve Regions of Maine defined for this site. It has an estimated 43,382 residents (2025), compared with 42,004 in the 2020 Census.

It takes in 24 cities, towns and plantations, the largest Ellsworth, Bar Harbor, Blue Hill, and Hancock.

In the 2024 presidential race, Kamala Harris carried the region with 58% to 39.3% for Donald Trump. That was a Democratic margin of 18.7 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Janet Mills carried the region with 60.1% to 38% for Paul LePage. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Angus King (Unenrolled) carried the region with 56.6% to 29.7% for Demi Kouzounas. On the Partisan Electoral Alignment Index (Partisan EAI), it ranks as the 4th most Democratic of 12 regions.

As of March 7, 2026, Acadia Region had 30,540 active registered voters: 38.3% Democrats, 28.3% Republicans, 29.8% unenrolled, and 3.2% Green Independents. The median household income is $73,699 and the median home value $342,959, against $74,733 and $296,600 statewide.
