It is part of Congressional District 2, State Senate District 20, State House District 88 (37% of residents), State House District 89 (37% of residents), State House District 90 (26% of residents), County Commissioner District 5, and County Commissioner District 6, in the Lewiston–Auburn region.

In the 2024 presidential race, Kamala Harris carried Auburn with 52.3% to 45.7% for Donald Trump. That was a Democratic margin of 6.6 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Janet Mills carried Auburn with 55.3% to 42.6% for Paul LePage. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Angus King (Unenrolled) carried Auburn with 54.3% to 32.6% for Demi Kouzounas.
