State Senate District 20 is one of Maine’s 35 State Senate districts, as drawn in the 2021 redistricting plan and in effect since the 2022 election. Its population was 40,584 in the 2020 Census.

It takes in Auburn, Poland, New Gloucester, and Durham. It is represented in the Maine Senate by Sen. Bruce Bickford (R-Auburn).

In the 2024 presidential race, Kamala Harris carried the district with 49.4% to 48.5% for Donald Trump. That was a Democratic margin of 0.9 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Janet Mills carried the district with 51.9% to 46.2% for Paul LePage. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Angus King (Unenrolled) carried the district with 52.8% to 36% for Demi Kouzounas. On the Partisan Electoral Alignment Index (Partisan EAI), it ranks as the 22nd most Democratic of 35 State Senate districts.
