Falmouth
Incorporated 1718Massachusetts gave the name Falmouth to the Casco Bay settlements in 1658, after Falmouth, England, scene of a Parliamentary victory in the English Civil War. Today's town was long called New Casco.

It is part of Congressional District 1, State Senate District 25, State House District 111 (75% of residents), State House District 112 (25% of residents), and County Commissioner District 2, in the Greater Portland region.
In the 2024 presidential race, Kamala Harris carried Falmouth with 69.8% to 28.3% for Donald Trump. That was a Democratic margin of 41.5 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Janet Mills carried Falmouth with 70.3% to 28.4% for Paul LePage. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Angus King (Unenrolled) carried Falmouth with 63.1% to 24.1% for Demi Kouzounas.
