Whiting is a town in Washington County, Maine, incorporated in 1825. It has an estimated 505 residents (2025), compared with 482 in the 2020 Census.
It is part of Congressional District 2, State Senate District 6, State House District 10, and County Commissioner District 2, in the Downeast region.
In the 2024 presidential race, Donald Trump carried Whiting with 59.8% to 38.1% for Kamala Harris. That was a Republican margin of 21.7 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Paul LePage carried Whiting with 48.3% to 46.2% for Janet Mills.
