Hancock County Commissioner District 3 is one of Hancock County’s three commissioner districts under the current plan (2021, with the 2024 update). Its population was 18,416 in the 2020 Census.

It takes in 11 cities, towns and plantations, the largest Bar Harbor, Hancock, Mount Desert, and Southwest Harbor.

In the 2024 presidential race, Kamala Harris carried the district with 60.3% to 36.9% for Donald Trump. That was a Democratic margin of 23.4 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Janet Mills carried the district with 62.5% to 35.6% for Paul LePage. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Angus King (Unenrolled) carried the district with 57.6% to 28.1% for Demi Kouzounas. On the Partisan Electoral Alignment Index (Partisan EAI), it ranks as the 9th most Democratic of 60 county commissioner districts.
