Kennebec County Commissioner District 2 is one of Kennebec County’s three commissioner districts under the current plan (2021, with the 2024 update). Its population was 40,773 in the 2020 Census.

It takes in 14 cities, towns and plantations, the largest Winthrop, Gardiner, Monmouth, and West Gardiner.

In the 2024 presidential race, Donald Trump carried the district with 48.7% to 48.4% for Kamala Harris. That was a Republican margin of 0.3 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Janet Mills carried the district with 51.7% to 46.4% for Paul LePage. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Angus King (Unenrolled) carried the district with 53.3% to 37.7% for Demi Kouzounas. On the Partisan Electoral Alignment Index (Partisan EAI), it ranks as the 25th most Democratic of 60 county commissioner districts.

As of March 7, 2026, Kennebec County Commissioner District 2 had 28,348 active registered voters: 30.8% Democrats, 34.2% Republicans, 30.1% unenrolled, and 4.4% Green Independents.
