Knox County Commissioner District 1 is one of Knox County’s three commissioner districts under the current plan (2021, with the 2024 update). Its population was 13,780 in the 2020 Census.

It takes in 4 cities, towns and plantations: Rockland, Thomaston, Saint George, and South Thomaston.

In the 2024 presidential race, Kamala Harris carried the district with 61.2% to 36.7% for Donald Trump. That was a Democratic margin of 24.5 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Janet Mills carried the district with 64.8% to 33.6% for Paul LePage. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Angus King (Unenrolled) carried the district with 58.4% to 27.5% for Demi Kouzounas. On the Partisan Electoral Alignment Index (Partisan EAI), it ranks as the 7th most Democratic of 60 county commissioner districts.
