It takes in 7 cities, towns and plantations, the largest Madison, Anson, Smithfield, and New Portland.
In the 2024 presidential race, Donald Trump carried the district with 61.7% to 36.3% for Kamala Harris. That was a Republican margin of 25.4 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Paul LePage carried the district with 55.7% to 42.3% for Janet Mills. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Angus King (Unenrolled) carried the district with 45.7% to 45% for Demi Kouzounas. On the Partisan Electoral Alignment Index (Partisan EAI), it ranks as the 11th most Republican of 60 county commissioner districts.
