York County Commissioner District 1 is one of York County’s five commissioner districts under the current plan (2021, with the 2024 update). Its population was 41,295 in the 2020 Census.

It takes in 11 cities, towns and plantations, the largest Berwick, South Berwick, Lebanon, and North Berwick.

In the 2024 presidential race, Donald Trump carried the district with 54.3% to 43.8% for Kamala Harris. That was a Republican margin of 10.5 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Paul LePage carried the district with 50.1% to 47.8% for Janet Mills. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Demi Kouzounas carried the district with 43.4% to 41.9% for Angus King (Unenrolled). On the Partisan Electoral Alignment Index (Partisan EAI), it ranks as the 20th most Republican of 60 county commissioner districts.

As of March 7, 2026, York County Commissioner District 1 had 28,075 active registered voters: 27.2% Democrats, 32.7% Republicans, 35.9% unenrolled, and 3.7% Green Independents.
