State House District 77 is one of Maine’s 151 State House districts, as drawn in the 2021 redistricting plan and in effect since the 2022 election. Its population was 9,522 in the 2020 Census.
It takes in Mexico, Dixfield, Peru, Hartford, Canton, and Livermore. It is represented in the Maine House of Representatives by Rep. Tammy Schmersal-Burgess (R-Mexico).
In the 2024 presidential race, Donald Trump carried the district with 63.1% to 35.5% for Kamala Harris. That was a Republican margin of 27.6 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Paul LePage carried the district with 58.7% to 38.4% for Janet Mills. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Angus King (Unenrolled) carried the district with 46.1% to 44.6% for Demi Kouzounas. On the Partisan Electoral Alignment Index (Partisan EAI), it ranks as the 22nd most Republican of 151 State House districts.
