Mexico is a town in Oxford County, Maine, incorporated in 1818. It has an estimated 2,779 residents (2025), compared with 2,756 in the 2020 Census.
It is part of Congressional District 2, State Senate District 19, State House District 77, and County Commissioner District 2, in the Western Maine region.
In the 2024 presidential race, Donald Trump carried Mexico with 57.5% to 41.3% for Kamala Harris. That was a Republican margin of 16.2 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Paul LePage carried Mexico with 50.9% to 45.4% for Janet Mills. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Angus King (Unenrolled) carried Mexico with 50.8% to 38.3% for Demi Kouzounas.
