State House District 78 is one of Maine’s 151 State House districts, as drawn in the 2021 redistricting plan and in effect since the 2022 election. Its population was 9,527 in the 2020 Census.

It takes in Rumford, Bethel, Roxbury, Hanover, and Byron. It is represented in the Maine House of Representatives by Rep. Rachel Henderson (R-Rumford).

In the 2024 presidential race, Donald Trump carried the district with 51.8% to 46.5% for Kamala Harris. That was a Republican margin of 5.3 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Janet Mills carried the district with 50.5% to 47.3% for Paul LePage. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Angus King (Unenrolled) carried the district with 52.4% to 36% for Demi Kouzounas. On the Partisan Electoral Alignment Index (Partisan EAI), it ranks as the 76th most Democratic of 151 State House districts.
