It is part of Congressional District 1, State Senate District 24, State House District 52 (67% of residents), State House District 98 (33% of residents), and County Commissioner District 1, in the Midcoast region.
In the 2024 presidential race, Donald Trump carried Bowdoin with 58.8% to 39.8% for Kamala Harris. That was a Republican margin of 19 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide.
