State Senate District 24 is one of Maine’s 35 State Senate districts, as drawn in the 2021 redistricting plan and in effect since the 2022 election. Its population was 38,930 in the 2020 Census.
It takes in 11 places, the largest of them Topsham, Bath, Richmond, Bowdoin, and Woolwich. It is represented in the Maine Senate by Sen. Denise Tepler (D-Topsham).
In the 2024 presidential race, Kamala Harris carried the district with 56.6% to 41.1% for Donald Trump. That was a Democratic margin of 15.5 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Janet Mills carried the district with 59.1% to 39.1% for Paul LePage. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Angus King (Unenrolled) carried the district with 58.6% to 30.8% for Demi Kouzounas. On the Partisan Electoral Alignment Index (Partisan EAI), it ranks as the 12th most Democratic of 35 State Senate districts.
As of March 7, 2026, State Senate District 24 had 27,747 active registered voters: 36.6% Democrats, 27.4% Republicans, 32% unenrolled, and 3.5% Green Independents. The median household income is $87,096 and the median home value $328,900, against $74,733 and $296,600 statewide.
