It is part of Congressional District 1, State Senate District 23, State House District 102, and County Commissioner District 3, in the Greater Portland region.
In the 2024 presidential race, Kamala Harris carried Freeport with 70% to 27.8% for Donald Trump. That was a Democratic margin of 42.2 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Janet Mills carried Freeport with 73.1% to 25.4% for Paul LePage. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Angus King (Unenrolled) carried Freeport with 65.3% to 22% for Demi Kouzounas.
