Poland is a town in Androscoggin County, Maine, incorporated in 1795. It has an estimated 6,098 residents (2025), compared with 5,906 in the 2020 Census.
It is part of Congressional District 2, State Senate District 20, State House District 87 (93% of residents), State House District 86 (7% of residents), and County Commissioner District 6, in the Lewiston–Auburn region.
In the 2024 presidential race, Donald Trump carried Poland with 55.4% to 42.5% for Kamala Harris. That was a Republican margin of 12.9 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Paul LePage carried Poland with 53.1% to 45.2% for Janet Mills. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Angus King (Unenrolled) carried Poland with 51.1% to 41.6% for Demi Kouzounas. On the Partisan Electoral Alignment Index (Partisan EAI), it ranks as the 281st most Republican of 504 towns.
