It is part of Congressional District 1, State Senate District 25 (74% of residents), State Senate District 23 (26% of residents), State House District 103, and County Commissioner District 3, in the Greater Portland region.

In the 2024 presidential race, Kamala Harris carried Yarmouth with 76.4% to 21.8% for Donald Trump. That was a Democratic margin of 54.6 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Janet Mills carried Yarmouth with 77.5% to 21.2% for Paul LePage. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Angus King (Unenrolled) carried Yarmouth with 67.9% to 18.2% for Demi Kouzounas.
