It takes in 7 cities, towns and plantations, the largest Augusta, Sidney, Vassalboro, and China.
In the 2024 presidential race, Donald Trump carried the district with 52.3% to 45.7% for Kamala Harris. That was a Republican margin of 6.6 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Janet Mills carried the district with 49.5% to 48.7% for Paul LePage. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Angus King (Unenrolled) carried the district with 50.3% to 38.6% for Demi Kouzounas. On the Partisan Electoral Alignment Index (Partisan EAI), it ranks as the 29th most Republican of 60 county commissioner districts.
