It takes in 12 cities, towns and plantations, the largest Norway, Fryeburg, Brownfield, and Hiram.
In the 2024 presidential race, Donald Trump carried the district with 50.2% to 48% for Kamala Harris. That was a Republican margin of 2.2 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Janet Mills carried the district with 52.2% to 45.6% for Paul LePage. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Angus King (Unenrolled) carried the district with 50.8% to 37.2% for Demi Kouzounas. On the Partisan Electoral Alignment Index (Partisan EAI), it ranks as the 28th most Democratic of 60 county commissioner districts.
As of March 7, 2026, Oxford County Commissioner District 1 had 13,468 active registered voters: 27.8% Democrats, 32.4% Republicans, 35% unenrolled, and 4.4% Green Independents.
