It is part of Congressional District 2, State Senate District 11, State House District 37 (55% of residents), State House District 38 (45% of residents), and County Commissioner District 2, in the Greater Bangor region.

In the 2024 presidential race, Donald Trump carried Frankfort with 64.8% to 33.5% for Kamala Harris. That was a Republican margin of 31.3 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Paul LePage carried Frankfort with 60.4% to 37.7% for Janet Mills. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Demi Kouzounas carried Frankfort with 51.8% to 36.4% for Angus King (Unenrolled).
