It is part of Congressional District 2, State Senate District 11, State House District 40, and County Commissioner District 3, in the Central Maine region.

In the 2024 presidential race, Donald Trump carried Liberty with 51.7% to 44.8% for Kamala Harris. That was a Republican margin of 6.9 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide.
