It is part of Congressional District 1, State Senate District 17, State House District 56, and County Commissioner District 2, in the Central Maine region.

In the 2024 presidential race, Donald Trump carried Litchfield with 60.6% to 37.7% for Kamala Harris. That was a Republican margin of 22.9 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide.
