It is part of Congressional District 2, State Senate District 5, State House District 72, and County Commissioner District 5, in the Central Maine region.

In the 2024 presidential race, Donald Trump carried Moscow with 75.2% to 23.8% for Kamala Harris. That was a Republican margin of 51.4 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Paul LePage carried Moscow with 70.3% to 28.4% for Janet Mills. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Demi Kouzounas carried Moscow with 54.7% to 36.5% for Angus King (Unenrolled). On the Partisan Electoral Alignment Index (Partisan EAI), it ranks as the 71st most Republican of 504 towns.
