Tremont is a town in Hancock County, Maine, incorporated in 1848 as Mansel. It has an estimated 1,552 residents (2025), compared with 1,544 in the 2020 Census.
It is part of Congressional District 2, State Senate District 7, State House District 15, and County Commissioner District 3, in the Acadia Region.
In the 2024 presidential race, Kamala Harris carried Tremont with 55.4% to 41.6% for Donald Trump. That was a Democratic margin of 13.8 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Janet Mills carried Tremont with 56.9% to 41.3% for Paul LePage. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Angus King (Unenrolled) carried Tremont with 57.9% to 31.4% for Demi Kouzounas.
