It is part of Congressional District 2, State Senate District 7, State House District 16, and County Commissioner District 3, in the Acadia Region.

In the 2024 presidential race, Kamala Harris carried Trenton with 50.3% to 46.2% for Donald Trump. That was a Democratic margin of 4.1 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide.
