Manchester is a town in Kennebec County, Maine, incorporated in 1850 as Kennebec. It has an estimated 2,492 residents (2025), compared with 2,456 in the 2020 Census.
It is part of Congressional District 2, State Senate District 14, State House District 55, and County Commissioner District 1, in the Central Maine region.
In the 2024 presidential race, Donald Trump carried Manchester with 51.8% to 46.4% for Kamala Harris. That was a Republican margin of 5.4 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Janet Mills carried Manchester with 50.5% to 48% for Paul LePage. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Angus King (Unenrolled) carried Manchester with 53.2% to 38.2% for Demi Kouzounas. On the Partisan Electoral Alignment Index (Partisan EAI), it ranks as the 348th most Republican of 504 towns.
