It is part of Congressional District 2, State Senate District 14, State House District 91, and County Commissioner District 2, in the Central Maine region.

In the 2024 presidential race, Kamala Harris carried Wayne with 58.4% to 39.8% for Donald Trump. That was a Democratic margin of 18.6 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Janet Mills carried Wayne with 59% to 38.8% for Paul LePage. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Angus King (Unenrolled) carried Wayne with 57.6% to 32.8% for Demi Kouzounas.
