State Senate District 18 is one of Maine’s 35 State Senate districts, as drawn in the 2021 redistricting plan and in effect since the 2022 election. Its population was 40,222 in the 2020 Census.
It takes in 14 places, the largest of them Bridgton, Paris, Norway, Oxford, and Fryeburg. It is represented in the Maine Senate by Sen. Richard A. Bennett (U-Oxford).
In the 2024 presidential race, Donald Trump carried the district with 53.7% to 44.5% for Kamala Harris. That was a Republican margin of 9.2 points, against a Democratic margin of 6.9 points statewide. In the 2022 governor’s race, Paul LePage carried the district with 49.8% to 48.1% for Janet Mills. In the 2024 U.S. Senate race, Angus King (Unenrolled) carried the district with 49.5% to 39.7% for Demi Kouzounas. On the Partisan Electoral Alignment Index (Partisan EAI), it ranks as the 12th most Republican of 35 State Senate districts.
